Additional Information:   One serious by product of building is air pollution. In the photo, a diesel stack rain cap on a working Thompson rotary wellpoint pump, is raised high indicating that the machine is emitting invisible exhaust gas into the atmosphere.

Repointing

AKA: Pointing and Pointing Up are terms which refer to the finishing phase in new masonry but are often applied to the act of repointing as well.

Additional Information: Workers employ a JLG 860SJ to renew mortar joints on the bell tower at the Bethel United Methodist Church in Lewes, Delaware. Repointing is periodic maintenance for masonry which can become badly damaged if water infiltrates cracks and freezes.
