Additional Information:  Hex means 6 and lobular or lobe means a rounded projection. Torx is not an acronym.

Ice Dam

Location: Roxana, Delaware

Additional Information: An ice dam has formed on the coldest part of this cedar shake roof.  Water from melting snow over the heated interior flows down and freezes over the unheated eave creating a dam. As the word implies, water is backed up behind the dam and can eventually make its way inside of the building causing all manner of moisture related problems.
